949 Racing Sets New Streets of Willow Record
KraftWerks Powered Miata Wins January Miata Challenge
949Racing approached us about using our new Rotrex supercharger kit on their Miata Challenge Miata. We had just finished production of our new Miata Base kit, and we felt that 949 Racing was the right team for our new kit’s first race. This was the first public Miata Base kit sold, and they installed the kit with less than 24 hours before the first Miata Challenge event of the year, and threw it on the trailer to go the track. With production "SuperCard," production parts, and no custom tuning, this was a real test of how a standard KraftWerks Base Kit would fair against the stiff competition of the Miata Challenge Unlimited Class.

Straight off the trailer, the 949Racing Challenge Miata was fast. William Chen of 949Racing continued to drop his lap time throughout the day, preparing for the Time Attack event at sunset. Custom Roots Superchargers and Turbos were all battling for the top spot in the Miata Challenge Unlimited class. The competition was tough, but the speed and drivability of the KraftWerks-powered Challenge Miata was unmatched. William Chen of 949Racing drove the car flawlessly, driving ultra smooth and never dropping a tire.

In its first race ever, the KraftWerks-powered 949Racing Challenge Miata won the Unlimited Class and Overall! In the process, we set a new track record for Miatas at Streets of Willow CCW at a 1:25.523! And this was only our 5psi Base kit...

Stay tuned to see how the 949Racing team does throughout the Miata Challenge season, and keep an eye out for our new Miata Base Supercharger Kit!
