KraftWerks recently began testing a special "Boosted Miata" project vehicle with Mazda Motorsports. We tailored our new Miata supercharger system to Mazda Motorsports' preferred test specifications, and sent them out for a full weekend of abuse at California Speedway in Fontana, CA. Throughout the weekend, different drivers from Mazda Motorsports got in and out of the car, driving it in nearly every track session. Throughout the whole 3-day test weekend, the Miata hummed around the banking in top gear without issue and passed a lot of other cars in the process. Everyone that got to drive the car, wanted back in!

Tim Buck of Mazda Motorsports was very pleased with the overall drivability. "The supercharger is a lot easier to drive, and the power is instantaneous. It's very seamless. The turbocharger you are always waiting for something to happen. You're always waiting to try and time your corners. The supercharger like I said is seamless, it's immediate, and honestly you would never know its was there. If you didn't have the sound [of the bypass valve] or the power, you wouldn't even know it was there. Reliability, seamless power... What more could you want?"

Oscar Jackson Sr. of KraftWerks Performance Group was pleased with the performance of the kit throughout the weekend. "The car has been extremely fast and extremely reliable. We are running times almost 10 seconds faster than the car did previously. The car looks great passing all the cars on the outside of the banking."

So far, everyone involved is very excited about the project and are enthusiastic to develop the Boosted Miata project further!
