The gearheads at Honda Tuning magazine got a chance to see some old-school Honda parts from Oscar Jackson's Fortress of Solitude. Oscar Jackson Sr. showed off his original "R Type" cylinder head and header for the Civic 1200 in the May, 2009 Honda Tuning, and gave them some history on the ’73-’79 Civic engines. The article explains the differences between the cylinder heads and the original "R Type" Tri-Y vs. the USDM header.

"Although externally the JDM Type R heads look exactly the same as the USDM heads, they were light-years better," Oscar Sr. explains.
