World Time Attack: K-Race Fast and Loud

World Time Attack Challenge: Australia

Time Attack has taken off not just in the US, but in Australia as well. Benny Tran at BYP Racing built an EG Hatch with K24a2 and has been running up front in the FWD class down in Australian Time Attacks. Recently the competition began to close up on him, so he wanted to step up his game. He chose KraftWerks.

Benny's EG hatch uses the KraftWerks K-Series Race Kit with Rotrex C38-61 supercharger unit.

BYP Racing debuted the car at the World Time Attack Challenge at Eastern Creek Raceway in Australia. The team only recorded a handful of laps during its first Time Attack outing with the KraftWerks K-Race kit. Even so, they were quick from the start with the quickest lap being a 1:41.2, which is nearly 5 seconds quicker from their previous personal best time! The car was placed Top 10 in Open Class and was 2nd quickest FWD. Overall the team is very happy with the car performance and result in its first event.

The car was one of the loudest on track all weekend and the most unique with its KraftWerks "Wallpaper" fenders. The car received a lot of media exposure and the team had quite a few fans stop by their pit. BYP competes against the big teams of Time Attack Down Under, so their success has been through a lot of hard work and dedication.

The BYP team will be developing the car further and competing in the Australian Supersprint Series. Stay tuned for further development!

Here is a hot lap around the fast Eastern Creek Raceway with the KraftWerks K-Race kit.
